The season is open with the grand kick start of asparagus. The little green shoots of spring perfection are flooding our market, drive thru & for the adventure seekers PICK YOUR OWN.
Anxious to to make a appearance with your family at your dinner table. How will you serve them? With asparagus being one of the most versatile veggies they complement just about any protiens or stand great on there own. A favorite of my family is to trim the woody ends off and give them a quick blanche in salted water. After you remove them I flash cool in ice water then I dry them in paper towel. Drizzle a little good quality olive oil on them and some fresh cracked black pepper. Throw the steaks on the grill and when the steaks come off to rest throw the asparagus on the grill. About 1 minute then roll and 1 more minute then off. Squeeze fresh lemon juice & a little grated fresh parmesan on top and happy tummy’s all around.
