Whether picking blueberries from our bushes or buying ready picked from our farm market, be sure you’re picking berries that are fully rippened. A nice blue is best, blueberries will not continue to ripen after picked.
When you bring your berries home remove any berries that look mushy – these should be eaten or preserved right away.
Do not wash your berries, to keep them fresher longer it’s best to leave them unwashed.
Line an airtight container with a paper towel at the bottom and place your berries loosely over top. Seal your contain and store in the fridge.
How to Freeze Blueberries
Wash your blueberries in cold water, removing any tiny stems
Place blueberries evenly on a parchement lined baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching. Freeze for 30-60 minutes.
Once frozen, place blueberries into freezer bag for easy storage. Enjoy frozen blueberries for up to a year – until the next blueberries season!
