CelebratING 50 Years of Pick-Your-Own Strawberries

Join us on June 19th as we celebrate a special milestone at Barrie Hill Farms — 50 years of pick-your-own strawberries.

The Gervais family purchased the farm in 1966, growing tobacco in the early years before planting their first strawberry crop in 1977. That first harvest marked the beginning of something special. A tradition that has now spanned five decades.

Since then, families have come to our fields year after year to pick fresh berries, spend time together, and create lasting memories. This event is our way of saying thank you to the community that has supported us along the way.

A Day celebrating our 50th years of strawberries

We’re welcoming guests, community members, and local dignitaries to the farm for a morning of celebration.

The day will include a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10AM to mark 50 years of pick-your-own strawberries, along with a few words from those who have been part of the farm’s journey.

What to Expect

As a small thank you for being a part of our story, guests joining us on June 19th can enjoy:

  • Complimentary coffee and tea, along with strawberry shortcake (while supplies last), served at 11AM following speaches and the ribbon cutting
  • A live wood carving demonstration, featuring a giant strawberry carved right on-site from 11AM-1PM
  • Complimentary admission (regular pick-your-own rates apply)

Come for the strawberries, stay for the experience, and help us celebrate 50 years of farming, family, and tradition.
